Multiple wrist fractures + unexpected trip home = nail nakedness and boredom!

Firstly, sorry that this isn’t a nail post. But at the title suggests, I am completely bored out of my brain! In a nutshell, this is my current state..

(minus the dress, and the fringe, and the makeup it was my manager’s birthday meal; I’m currently living in joggers, barefaced.. oh and minus the room… This was my room in Rhodes, and I’m now back in the UK 😦 )

I’ve never broken a bone in my body, so it seems when I did this, in true me style it had to be dramatic- four fractures and a dislocation. I won’t go into the details because it involved needles and some blood curdling screams and me crying like baby in a Greek hospital.

Things you learn when you’re in a full arm cast:

  1. even the slightest knock of your arm hurts.
  2. you end up catching yourself on everything like never before; fingers caught in straps, hitting walls…
  3. full arm cast= looking hideous = looking and feeling rubbish
  4. you can’t sleep on your bad arm side- the side I normally sleep on..
  5. you can’t open jars
  6. you can’t squeeze bottles- shampoo, face wash, toothpaste..
  7. ..and when you can you’ve got nothing to squeeze it into, which means squeezing straight onto your hair, or angling your face to find a flat surface  to squeeze onto.. or just squeezing and hoping for the best.
  8. one side of your body becomes untouchable. heaven forbid i have an itchy right shoulder blade. my peeling skin may as well be as far away as on Mars it’s that impossible to reach.
  9. there’s no point attempting to put on a jumper or hoodie properly. Anything with sleeves with a circumference smaller than a large watermelon might as well go on your wardrobes top shelf.
  10. accessories that match = zero.
  11. showering is an act that either requires another’s assistance, (nothing even sexy about it) or you to be reminded of how little upper arm strength you possess, by holding your arm above your head.
  12. there IS a finite number of programmes and films you can watch on TV.
  13. there is a limit to how long you can stare at every social media network you’re connected to before you’re once again bored.
  14. You get messages from people you’ve not heard from in ages, whereas the people you want to hear from, you don’t.
  15. There’s no point eating anything that requires cutting..unless of course you want someone to cut it into bitesize chunks-n flashbacks to being five years old anyone?!
  16. People keep telling you to see the positives in it, “it happened for a reason”… err NO.
  17. You think about all the courses etc you wanted to do, nearly apply, then realise that, actually, no, it’ll be damn hard to complete the course one handed. And therefore….
  18. you get BORED BORED BORED.

I’m very excited though, as I placed my first Born Pretty order the other day- nothing crazy, just some chevron templates and decals.

Back to some nail art; heres some of the stuff I’ve done over the last few months..

This is a basic french, with the Ciate Geltox top coat on, which I absolutely love. My original plan was to do a post dedicated to a review and nail art with this, but that might have to wait.. :/

A rather bright looking Models Own Diamond Luxe in Marquise Maroon, with an accent nail of Utopia, covered in silver glequins.

Models Own’s speckled eggs in Magpie Green for Easter- I love the matteness!

The same speckled eggs polish, sandwiched with a Claire’s clear/neon dot polish as my first sandwich experiment.

corset nailI love these, shame the extensions were so outgrown. I love most the matte red paired with the silver holo. The red is a Models Own LE that I won, in association with Ford. I didn’t fully appreciate this polish till this mani!

Hopefully, in a few weeks (even more hopefully less), I’ll be able to get back to some nail art, even if it’s just on false nails.
